Timm Chapman is a fine art landscape and travel photographer based in Phoenix. Chapman’s portfolio of imagery spans 4 decades, with the last decade spent making photographs in far away lands, capturing sights few will ever see. His travels have taken him to the frozen lands of Siberia and the Arctic, to the deserts of Namibia, the jungles of Cambodia and the caves of Vietnam. He even ventured to Chernobyl to chronicle the irradiated Exclusion Zone. His work has been published and collected around the globe. In May of 2021, Chapman made his 8th pilgrimage to Iceland, with a specific goal to photograph the volcanic eruption at Geldingadalir, from both the land and from the air. In this presentation, Chapman shares his techniques for planning and executing a shoot of this type along with a host of images from the project.
