Adapting Vintage Lenses for use on Modern Digital Cameras
Explore a new world of photographic creativity through adapting lenses made for one camera system – onto a completely different system.
We’ll begin with a discussion of why and how photographers might adapt an old lens for use today, followed by some approaches you might want to explore if you want to try yourself. Some camera and lens combinations work great – some are impossible, so we’ll also briefly discuss how to avoid pitfalls. Finally we’ll have a workshop session where you can try some vintage lenses from Peter’s personal collection.
A representative from Premiere Camera should be at the meeting as well with a few vintage lenses from their stock.
The featured photo was shot with a Jupiter-8 50mm/1.5 (Leica/L39 mount) lens adapted onto an IR converted Canon EOS-RP (Canon RF mount).
Update from Peter: If people have an option of multiple camera types, the best/preferred are mirrorless full frame cameras. Crop frame mirrorless is second choice. DSLR with live view is a maybe. Nikon G/AI etc won’t have any good options it’s a difficult format to adapt to.

If someone has a different kind of mirrorless camera (not listed above) then if a Leica M adapter for their camera exists, then it would be great to get that.
