2017-2018 Schedule

All meetings are from 7:30pm to 8:45pm, unless otherwise noted. For print competitions, participants must submit their prints not later than 7:15pm.

 

September 12th, 2017 – Kick off meeting / Flea market

Bring any gear you would like to sell. Lenses, cameras, tripods, or any camera related equipment to sell.

 

September 19th, 2017 – Germaine Watkins

A valued member of the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild will be here to discuss his photography and events going on at MCG. He has been a valued judge at some of our competitions in the past.

 

September 26th, 2017 – Print Competition #1

Robert Fleming and the competition committee. Members who have paid there dues can enter up to 3 images.  Members should present their prints and entry forms at the competition table no later than 7:15pm

 

October 10th, 2017 – Four corner shoot

Tom Delegram and Tom Martin organizers. Four studio lighting setups with models.Various techniques and lighting equipment ( monolights and pack & head ). An educational and fun hands-on evening.

 

October 17th, 2017 – Gallery Night

Bring 2 images to show and discuss.

 

October 24th, 2017 – Chuck Beard, “Abandoned Pittsburgh”

Owner of the Abandoned Pittsburgh Gallery in Homestead. His ongoing Abandoned Pittsburgh photographic project has led to the publication of two books, with a third planned for 2017. It will be a can’t miss night. A very interesting subject.

 

November 14th, 2017 – Emmanuel Panagiotakis Photography

An extremely accomplished photographer recognized nationally. His photographs have been awarded in Popular Photography Magazine as a fist place winner. Numerous other awards. Don’t miss this opportunity to see his work.

 

November 21th, 2017 – PDI competition # 1

Ralph Gurley and the competition committee. Members who have paid there dues can enter up to 3 images. Email images to Ralph at least 1 week in advance.

 

November 28th, 2017 -Michael Ray,  “Food Photography”

December 12th, 2017 – Holiday Event- Christmas Party

Members meet for snacks and soft drinks and enjoy a print display and exchange at the Rec center.

 

January 9th, 2017 – Member print discussion

Looking for up to 5 volunteers to bring in things they photograph that we usually don’t see in our competitions. Subjects that are out of the ordinary that they are interested in. Contact Bryan Haberman for details.

 

January 16th, 2018 – Brooke Ward, “HDR Photography”

http://www.brook-ward.com. Another very accomplished photographer is going to do a presentation on HDR photography. Come out and enjoy some very different photos.

 

January 23rd, 2018 – Print Competition #2

Our Academy President.  A continuation of my photographic journey since his last Photo section program.

John is a professional photographer and one of our members. Come out and enjoy his photographs from his travels to Italy.

April 17th 2018 – JP Diroll Photography

A presentation by local photographer, JP Diroll, who has produced many stunning images of Pittsburgh and a great deal more.  He will share some tips with us as well as his photography.  Check out his web site at http://www.jpdirollphotography.com/ to see some beautiful work.
