The village also has 10 museums, antiques shops and a 10 block historic district. More info at http://www.zca.org/. Zoar, Ohio is 1 hour south of Cleveland and 3 miles from I-77. Hot Air Balloon Festival - Just wanted to let people know that there is a balloon festival in Morgantown October 8-11 sponsored by University Motors. The website http://www.ummbf.com/ has pictures from last event in 2007 and some info on this year's event. They did not have it last year because they lost Mylan Labs as a sponsor. More on this later.

October 10
Volant Harvest Festival -2
Zelienople PA Festival
The Fall Colors should be good and the Amish are harvesting Pumpkins
These 3 can be covered in a single trip and are recommended.

October 11
"Tour De Burgh!" - Tom Delegram is also putting together an outing on Sunday October 11. He will be taking us on a unique tour of Pittsburgh visiting about 13 locations around the city. He would like to start about 9 AM. Information on our starting place will follow.

Fall Train Outing - We would appreciate some feedback on this to determine interest - Some members have asked about a possible train trip outing in the fall. The board discussed possible options and settled on the East Broad Top Railroad www.ebtrr.com located in the towns of Orbisonia and Rockhill, PA. This train is about a 3 hour drive from Pittsburgh. I called this morning to see what they have. Their details are not set and will not be for a couple weeks so this information is based on last year's events. On Friday October 9, they have a photographer's event for one day a year. For this event they can accommodate about 50 people or 1 coach car and it will last 5-6 hours. There will be guided tours, coal trains and trains doing multiple run passes. Last year's price was $100/person which included a meal.

The regular train trip costs $12-15 and last 1.5 hours which is discounted $.50 for groups of 20. There are no extra activities on the regular day and the train will not be stopped for photo opportunities. Over that weekend there are roundhouse and shop tours, handcar and speeder rides and vendors sent up on the grounds. It sounds like quite a busy day. Motel accommodations in the area are quite limited and participates will be on their own if they chose to say in the area overnight. They are in the process of planning for a Community Appreciation Day and Civil War Weekend which will be held August 15-16. I will gather more details after that when they will start planning for the October outings. Let us know if you are at all interested in participating.

Please send additions to this list if you have any

Each County has a web site with event information and links to help in planning the day trip.
