I just saw a story on KDKA about a new photo book, the majority of which was photographed at the
Aviary downtown.

It was photographed by Andrew Zuckerman for his new book called BIRD.  Many of the photographs can
be viewed on his web site at http://www.andrewzuckerman.com. Enter the site then click Work
then Photographs and then Bird.

The birds were not just placed on a white background in Photoshop as it might look.  The photographs
were done using a white paper background with studio softboxes in the large main bird room and also in a
training room at the Aviary.  The backgound and lighting was placed in the room for several hours for the
birds to get use to its presence and treats were used to get the birds to fly across the background or stand
on it for the photos.  Treats were used to get the birds to perform in front of the background.

The book can be purchased at the Aviary gift shop if anyone wants a copy. Andrew Zuckerman has many
other great photographs on web site as well.
